Big trip day 1

Emma and I began our almost 2-week adventure today as we left the house around 6:45 a.m. for LAX. After really light traffic, a quick bus ride from Van Nuys, basically no line at the check-in counter, flying through security and walking right up at Starbucks without having to wait, we got to our gate about an hour early. It was insane. That never happens. Not to us, at least.

It was an uneventful flight - one that actually took off 15 minutes early, in fact - and Emma was good on the plane. She even slept for about an hour, so I got a little cat nap in as well. As we came down the escalator at the Indy airport to get our bag, my parents were right there and Emma ran to meet them and give them a hug. It was so precious.

We've been having fun now that we're at their house, and Emma had a bath. Now she's just playing with Mamaw in the playroom.

So, all in all, pretty good first day of a big trip. :)
