Wednesday: Where am I? Candy Crush Update

I am happy to say that I finally defeated that cursed Level 213! I am now zooming along and am working on Level 235. Go me!
I am getting super excited about the New Kids concert. I'm excited about the show; but I may be more excited to get to spend time with my friend, Kelly, who lives very far away and is one of the ladies going with our group to the concert.

The Toy Story movies are so wonderfully written. I enjoy them and laugh every single time. "Prepare to meet...Mr. Angry Eyes!"

Dear Week: The Final Countdown

Dear Week,
I am counting down to the New Kids on the Block/98°/Boyz II Men concert on Sunday. I'm one of a group of 5 ladies going to the concert. We've had the tickets since February. I can't believe it's [almost] finally here! So. Excited.

Dear Monday,
Newsletter printing day at work. If you know me, you know how I feel about that.

Dear Tuesday,
Big Daddy, Emma, my mom, my dad, and I are going to the county fair tonight. Taco salad. Homemade donuts. Lemon shake-up. Rides. Free stuff in the merchant's tent. Maybe that sounds country or whatever to you, but it sounds like a perfect evening to me.

Dear Wednesday,
Not sure what's happening today. Maybe nothing... I'll take it!

Dear Thursday,
Zumba night. Always a fun time.

Dear Friday,
Family-friendly work party at Big Daddy's place of employment. I'm not sure what all will be happening, but I'm sure it will be fun. Then Rick A and The Way are performing at the free stage at the fair. I'm hoping we make it back to see them. If you're in town, swing by the fair on Friday night between 8 and 10 p.m. to see Rick A and The Way on the free stage. They are awesome!

Summer ends quickly
That old, familiar bell rings
Where does the time go?

3 Thoughts Thursday

1. Walking out of the mall and not being able to find your vehicle - thus believing it to be stolen - for even a few minutes is terrifying.
Trust me.

2. I wish I could bottle even 1/4 of the energy Emma has.
I could make a mint.

3. I am stuck on level 213 on Candy Crush, and I'm about to lose my mind.
Seriously. It's so frustrating.

Wednesday: Where am I? School Shopping Edition

I am waking up Miss Emma. She's so funny in the morning.

I am reading my library book [at work]. It's getting really exciting. I'm almost done with it, finally. I highly recommend it.

I am making a deposit at the bank.

I am school shopping with Emma and MIL. We got a TON of great clothes at Target, and we found a super cute backpack at Meijer. Emma had been holding out for a messenger bag; but we hadn't been able to find one she liked. So she tried on a bunch of backpacks at Meijer, and she finally settled on a really cute one that came with a matching lunch bag (the one she pooh-pooh'd the first time I showed it to her).
I am having lunch at one of my favorite places: Fazoli's. I had a coupon and got whole wheat penne with meat sauce for 1 penny with the purchase of a medium drink. HELLO!! I couldn't even eat the whole thing. Pretty good deal for a penny. :)

I am finally home and ready to spend the rest of the evening here.

Twitter Tuesday: Wednesday Edition

Trying a new coffee flavor this morning. So far, so good.

Dear Week

Dear Monday,
I saw online this morning that Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, is in labor and at the hospital. I am way more excited about this than I probably should be. I keep checking Google News for updates.

Dear Tuesday,
Nothing going on today - at least nothing on the calendar. We'll see if it stays that way.

Dear Wednesday,
School shopping today! I can't believe it's time already to go school shopping.

Dear Thursday,
Emma has a dentist appointment in Speedway today. It's going to take us longer to get there than for her whole appointment; but that's OK. The cleaning should probably take no time, since she's missing 4 teeth.

Dear Friday,
See Tuesday.

Freestyle Friday: Pot Roast Edition

I'm making pot roast in the crock pot today. It's been literally years since I last made pot roast. It used to be a favorite for Big Daddy and me; but once Emma was old enough to eat solid foods, she had a hard time chewing the pot roast. It always took her tiny teeth so long with one piece that she would get bored with it. And thus our pot roast days ended.

But tonight Emma is spending the night at MIL and FIL's house. The band Big Daddy plays bass in is coming over for practice tonight because they have a gig tomorrow in Zionsville, and I'm feeding the guys before practice. We're having crock pot pot roast with golden potatoes and corn on the cob. I'm hungry just typing this.

Have a great pot roast weekend!

3 Thoughts Thursday

1. Is "Well, don't you look comfortable!" a compliment?
Someone said that to me today. I was wearing black shorts with a belt, a white tank under a heathered dark blue racerback tank with an American flag design on it, and red and white boat shoes. It's hotter than blazes outside, so I wanted to dress accordingly. And yes, I was comfortable: the outfit was comfy, and I was cool in the terrible heat. I said thanks when she said it; but afterward I started to think that there were several ways I could have taken that statement...

2. Follow-through is important.
In lots of things. Following through when you swing a baseball bat is important. Likewise, the key to a good golf swing is the follow-through (whether it be GOLF golf or putt-putt golf). Also, it is important to follow through when you say you're going to do something. For instance, like when you purchase a new vehicle that needs a special license plate bracket to hold it onto the back of the car and you put the plate temporarily in the back window because the dealership says they are going to get you the special bracket within the next few days but fast-forward 2+ weeks and your plate is still sliding around in your back window because they haven't gotten you the bracket they promised to get you and you're afraid you're going to get pulled over because you really can't see the license plate in the back window and you think that's probably a ticket-able offense... The whole situation could be remedied by FOLLOWING THROUGH and getting the bracket like THEY SAID THEY WOULD.*

*It's supposed to get there today. I'll believe that when said bracket is ON MY CAR and I don't have to worry about the license plate sliding into Emma's lap by accident.

3. When Emma isn't here, I feel like part of me is missing.
She's only bowling with MIL and FIL, but I'm still alone here at the house and CLICK HERE.

Wednesday: Where am I?

I am sleeping in a bit since Emma is coming to work with me today.

I'm making WAFFLES.

I am at work. I am frustrated. I am annoyed. I am beyond irritated. We are having serious internet connection issues, and I was trying to download and print a ton of stuff for work. The hit-and-miss connection made that job impossible. So, pretty much 2 hours of my life wasted. Ugh.

I am having lunch with Emma and my mom at Subway. Yum!

I am waiting for Emma as she sorts misplaced flavored suckers at Walmart.

I am sweltering.

I am planning on staying inside for the rest of the day.

Emma had her nap yesterday. I think today's my day. #nightynight

To Whom It May Concern

Dear Monday,
You are probably my least favorite day of the week. Today you haven't been too terrible; but you also haven't been all that great either. At least you're giving Miss Emma a chance to rest...

Dear nap,
It took Emma approximately 0.2 seconds to find you once she laid down on the couch. We ended up leaving a playdate with her friends because Emma was so tired. She just wasn't herself. Hopefully once she wakes up she'll be more Emma-like.

Dear library,
Thanks for letting me renew the book I am reading. I'm not normally this slow of a reader, but I've been reading very sporadically as of late. I really am enjoying this book, though. I highly recommend it. It's fascinating.

Love,
Me

Freestyle Friday

We told Emma about our upcoming trip to Disney World . . . let the countdown begin!!

So. Very. Excited.

3 Thoughts Thursday

And we're BACK!

1. Pee-wee's Big Adventure is still funny.
Do you remember that movie from 1985? I watched it SO many times back then. We've recently introduced Emma to it. Now she's a Pee-wee fan, too. I know you are, but what am I?

2. "We're going to Disney World!"
...in just a few short weeks. And Emma doesn't know it yet. To keep a secret or not to keep a secret?

3. I need a snack.
I'm hungry. Per usual.

Wednesday: Where am I? Missing My Girl Edition

I am missing my girl playing games on her computer. Sometimes she talks to the screen and carries on conversations with the games. It's so cute.

I am missing my girl playing with her toys.

I am missing my girl sleeping in her own bed. I mean, for goodness sake, her pillow's not even there!

I am missing my girl's toothbrush next to mine in the bathroom.

I am missing my girl in the car with me.

I'm so glad she gets back today!

Can't wait to hear about Emma's time at Grandparent and Me camp. I heard this morning she got up early for the polar bear swim!

Monday, July 8, 2013

Dear week

Dear week,

My baby girl is going to be gone for most of you. She left last night for Grandparent and Me camp with my mom and dad and her two cousins. She'll be back from camp sometime on Wednesday afternoon. Then she leaves again on Thursday to go with her mamaw and papaw and cousins for an overnight at the Abe Martin Lodge in Brown County.

I miss her.

But Big Daddy and I have already had fun watching a movie and laughing together, and I'm sure the laughs will continue. Maybe we'll go out to dinner a time or two while Emma's gone...

Freestyle Friday

Traded in the van today for a smaller vehicle. Pretty excited about it. :)

Going to the drive-in movie double feature tonight: Despicable Me 2 and Monsters University. Should be tons of fun, if I don't fall asleep...

Sorry for the lack of imagination. Been busy around here for the past few days. I'll be better next week, promise!

3 Thoughts Thur...

...We interrupt your normal programming for this word from A Little Wordy management:

Happy Independence Day!

I hope you all had a wonderful day. My day was full of food, family, and fun. Couldn't ask for anything better. I am truly blessed.

Wednesday: Where am I?

I am sitting at our *new* [read: old, bought from neighbor at yard sale] kitchen table having coffee and playing Candy Crush Saga. Since I'm the only one in this house who has to work today, I'm up early. One clock in here says 6:39. It's one of those clocks that also tells you the weather; but ever since I had to change the batteries last week, it's been an hour off. So it's really 7:39. I need to figure out how to fix that clock.
I am quietly getting ready for work. Here's what the others are doing in this house:
I am working. You've seen photos of that before. So let's move on.

I am running errands...
Bank

Gas station

Dry cleaner
I am having lunch with Emma and Big Daddy. Gotta love ravioli marinara for $1.99! And all those delicious breadsticks... YUM!
I am building a bear with Emma. The nice lady let Emma help fill up the stuffing machine.
I am at Lowe's with Big Daddy and Emma. Ran into our pastor's lovely wife and his two kiddos. That was fun.
I am making my yummy dessert for tomorrow's big family pitch-in. The one thing not pictured: fresh blueberries. Nummers!
For the rest of the day, we're going to go help MIL and FIL set up for tomorrow's big party. And I need to paint my nails.

Dear week[end]

[weekend]

Dear sleeping in,
You are awesome. Usually, "sleeping in" on a Saturday to Emma means 8 a.m. Not today. We slept until 9:30 a.m.! It was glorious.

Dear Chuck E. Cheese,
It was probably not the best idea to come visit you on a Saturday evening. But we did. And Emma had a blast. And that's what matters.

Dear best day at church ever,
Emma got baptized today. Big Daddy got to do the honors. And I got to take her confession of faith. It was a wonderful, emotional day.

[week]

Dear Monday,
I have a lot to do at work today. Ugh...

Dear Tuesday,
Fun Girl Scout event this afternoon: tie dye! I'm hoping they let me stay and participate a little bit...

Dear Wednesday,
No plans that I know of today. Probably getting ready for tomorrow's festivities. (Speaking of which, I need to figure out what I'm making for the pitch-in.) Maybe I should finish that American flag wreath I started a while ago...

Dear Thursday,
Happy Independence Day! Fun annual family party at MIL and FIL's house...

Dear Friday,
Back to work...

Dear Saturday,
Lakeapalooza (pitch-in, lake swimming, awesome music by Rick A and The Way) at a friend's house during the day. I hope the weather cooperates. Fireworks tonight! Love it!
